Hey all you horse loving kids out there!! Here's a website for you that you might like to try out. It's called Howrse. It's a website where you can raise a horse or pony from birth on. You can train it, feed it, groom it, etc. Once you get higher up in the levels, you can also buy and trade horses. You can do lots of things on this website. It's like you have your own horse; it's just virtual. So if you're allergic to the dust or maybe can't afford a horse, or maybe even have a horse but you're at home and bored, get on and play with your virtual one! You can buy things for your horse, have your own barn, board your horse at another barn, have babies with a horse you already have, etc. So get on and try Howrse

Gold Star
As most of you probably know, there's been chaos with the Gold Star Futurity Show. Yes, to reassure you, there is still going to be the show. It's just under new management. It's been pretty chaotic and everybody's been talking about the drama but there will still be a show. We had a good committee but sometimes things just happen for a reason. And we have to go with what happens. So as a barn, AKS is going to be mutual. We don't want to be in the middle of the drama and confusion and we don't want to get anything more started. Everybody has enough to deal with without more of us adding to it when it's not necessary. We're all hoping that the new committee is just as good and that it'll all be fine. And to the old committee; THANK YOU!!! You worked hard and did a good job. Everything was much appreciated. Hopefully the show will be just as much fun and just as exciting as it would've been with the old committee. But to reassure those who have been worrying, there's still a show; just under new management. If you want a little bit more detail, you can go to Kelly's Blog (http://www.iowagoldstarfuturity.blogspot.com/).

Let The Showing Begin
We're all really excited to show this year! Show season has started back up and we've got one show done! It was so much fun!! The girls from AKS who went did a really good job!! It was exciting. Between the three horses, Annie was the only one who had been there before. So for the other two horses, it was a new experience but both had been in many show rings before so it was nothing major for them. They were completely fine! All three girls did very good and had a lot of fun! Liza got the champion in both championship classes for 10 and under and Allie took reserve. We're very proud of them! For it being Kylee and Toby's first real show together, they did good. We were mainly trying to get ring time and show experience for them together so seconds, thirds, and fourths were okay.
Now that we've got one show done, the girls are just practicing and waiting for the next! They're excited and can't wait! They're counting down the days until Memorial Day weekend for the show at the fairgrounds. And speaking of fairgrounds, stop out and watch if you have the chance and watch the girls ride. And come back to the stalls and socialize. The show will be lots of fun.
